Upgrade needed for Mojave compatibility.
Ancestry’s FTM Mac 1 and Mac 2 editions are not compatible with recent macOS systems. There are problems working with both macOS High Sierra 10.13 and macOS Mojave 10.14 including crashes with citations, and a number of issues with even basic operations such as switching between workspaces, web searches and other online functionality. These issues have all been fixed in the Mac version of FTM 2017 which is fully compatible with — so you may want to consider upgrading (see offer below).

Ancestry’s FTM Mac 3 edition is not fully compatible with recent macOS systems. There are issues with both macOS High Sierra 10.13 and macOS Mojave 10.14 including crashes with basic operations such as find and replace. These issues have all been fixed in our updated FTM Mac 3.1 edition (March 2016) and in FTM 2017 (July 2017), both of which are fully compatible with . If you experience any difficulties after upgrading to macOS Mojave, we suggest you consider upgrading to a MacKiev edition.

Updating to MacKiev’s FTM Mac 3.1 is free for owners of Ancestry’s FTM Mac 3. You can get a copy any time day or night at our Update Center by clicking the button below. The site will verify your ownership and provide you with a free download. Note that FTM Mac 3.1 no longer connects to Ancestry, so you will not get Ancestry hints, nor be able to sync, search, merge or use the map functions as these services have been discontinued by Ancestry on all editions other than FTM 2017. If you don’t use any of those though, then a free update to FTM Mac 3.1 is the way to go.
