While looking at all the websites I found the website MacKiev that talked about the
Kidpix 3D software for Mac. The software allows kids to make animated movies of their
own with 3D animation. This software is everything kids need to create and share
their stories. You can create the story with dozens of multi-layered 3D backgrounds,
3D stereo effects, 3D path animations, video narration, flipbook button, 3D paint
tools, and movie backgrounds.
The system has minimum requirements; Mac OS X 10.4.11 or later, built-in or external video camera, microphone, Internet connection, and DVD drive. According to MacKiev, this is the number one Mac software for kids to create their own stories, drawings, and paintings (MacKiev, 2011). The 3D path animation allows the 3D characters to jump, hop, and fly around the 3D background. This software would be a great way for kids to tell their own stories. On the MacKiev website they have a gallery of stories created by other kids to explore and watch. All of these stories were really cute to watch and listen to. This software is not too expensive to purchase, the Kidpix 3D software ranges from forty to eighty dollars.
This would be a great way for students to share
stories in the classroom if Mac computers were available. I would definitely
use this software in the classroom if Macs were available and if I could buy
and use the software. I would also recommend this to other teachers, because
I feel that the kids would love this software.
